Gaëtan Royer, President of CityState, was involved in a large number of award-winning urban developments and community projects.
Working in a number of Canadian communities over the past 35 years, Gaëtan has left behind him a long trail of highly popular recreation centres, parks, sportsfields, ice arenas and even an artificial lake. He also helped equip Bagotville, Cold Lake, Surrey, Whitehorse and Port Moody with functional fire halls, police buildings, maintenance facilities, airfields, roads and utilities.
A published author of research papers and Time for Cites, a university textbook, Gaetan contributes his urban planning and design expertise as a frequent commentator on CBC.
Gaëtan has worked internationally with the City of Moscow, the Strelka Institute, the United Nations and the Canadian government. He was selected as jury member for a prestigious international design competition. Count on Gaëtan to create innovative design solutions.
Carola Alder, Urban Planning and Marketing Specialist. As a graduate of the UBC Sauder School of Business, Carola offers insight into development business plans. Carola brings over 15 years experience in marketing and design.
Melissa's environmental consulting experience includes park master plans, natural resources planning and habitat restoration work.
Melissa obtained a certificate in Sustainable Community Development from Simon Fraser University to complement her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from McGill University and a Master of Arts in Marine Science from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.

Charlotte Knowlton is a part-time creative illustrator. Her images brings a new level of realism to spaces designed by CityState. Her ability to interpret plans and represent them in photo-realistic images defies the imagination.
Charlotte also serves as a researcher and assistant during public consultation. She has a strong affinity for heritage projects and brings passion and attention to detail to every project she touches.
Daniel Broderick is a bright and thoughtful graduate with an impressive array of experiences to date. Daniel obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, with a Minor in Environment and Society while participating in the University of British Columbia’s Co-operative Education Program.
As a creative and thoughtful intern, he brings us refreshing and modern ideas about engaging residents of all ages in consultation processes. As a recent graduate, Daniel already has a few years’ experience researching, analyzing and planning for projects and community outreach initiatives.
Daniel takes on new challenges with ease and quiet confidence, contributing invaluably to the design and planning of technical projects.
Daniel is currently on sabbatical pursuing a Masters of Planning.
Didar Badiei has a Bachelor of Architecture from I.K.I. University and AutoCad Certificate from Brighton College. She contributes to high quality design as an architectural technician.
True to CityState tradition of pro-bono work, Didar volunteered at a “Habitat for Humanity” construction site and at the “Yaletown Roundhouse Art & Recreation Centre” to help with art events.
