Ma Murray House, Anmore

Latest news: Council rejects an opportunity to submit a grant application. Council prefers to see the building demolished and a few artifacts preserved. Somehow, Anmore Council turns its back on hundreds of thousands in grants from Heritage Canada and Heritage BC.

During Spring and Summer 2016, the future of old Ma Murray house was under consideration. The Village of Anmore issued a request for proposals to invite groups to submit plans for its re-use. A group of local residents came together to make a proposal. They plan to save Ma Murray house, re-locate it, rehabilitate its exterior and refurbish its interior into a museum, art gallery and coffee shop.

In the process of saving the historic Murray Homestead, the group of volunteers created the Anmore Heritage Society. The Society is now inactive.
