Private owners, developers, realtors, hospitality industry, condo Strata Councils & non-profit organizations Gaëtan Royer, President of CityState, was involved in a large number of award-winning urban developments and community projects.
Working in a number of Canadian communities over the past 35 years, Gaëtan has left behind him a long trail of highly popular recreation centres, parks, sportsfields, ice arenas and even an artificial lake. He also helped equip Bagotville, Cold Lake, Surrey, Whitehorse and Port Moody with functional fire halls, police buildings, maintenance facilities, airfields, roads and utilities. CityState relies on a network of experts and associates and a cohesive team approach to address specialized aspects of individual projects. The window of opportunity for a developer or a community to save money and create better value is wide open at the concept planning stage. As a project progresses through detailed design and construction, changes become increasingly difficult to make. Near the end of the process, savings can only be achieved by carving important pieces out of a project. Lesson: Get things right at the concept plan stage. CityState's specialty is concept plans. We build a team of highly creative experts who focus on saving money and creating value at the outset. Other services include:

Process management
CityState appreciates how much people are invested in their community and how deeply concerned they are about its future.
Residents, neighbourhood groups and community associations are a force to be channeled; they are assets rather than enemies. But in a society where we are constantly bombarded with new rapid-fire information, community engagement needs to be truly engaging. CityState knows how to reach out, through multiple channels adapted to each demographic group. Gaëtan was City Manager when Port Moody decided to change its solid waste collection system. Everything had to change: frequency of pickup, containers, separation of food waste, etc. Most importantly, the attitude and personal habits of 35,000 residents had to change. Port Moody's successful communications campaign was recognized with an award from the Solid Waste Association of North America. More... CityState will assemble a comprehensive public consultation process, from blank sheet meeting when you seek broad input from the community right through to the preparation for the final public hearing and approval. Missing a step and costly backtracking can make or break a project. CityState will also map your project on a clear timetable based on best practices. Other services include:
